Police investigate suspicious fire – Jun Lin Massage in Hobart

At 12:05am Sunday 29 July 2018, Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police responded to a fire alarm at Jun Lin Massage at 77 Elizabeth Street, Hobart.
 
Emergency services arrived on the scene a short time later and discovered the internal fire sprinklers had activated. A subsequent examination of the property revealed fire damage in the kitchen area.
 
Whilst the exact cause of the fire is unknown at this stage it is being treated as suspicious.
 
Detectives and Forensic Services will conduct a fire examination during daylight hours.
Police are appealing for any witnesses in the area at the time, especially those who may have seen a person on the roof of the premises around the time of the fire.
 
The damage estimate is unknown at this time though it is likely there will be significant water damage to the premises as well as adjoining businesses.
