Youths arrested over deliberately lit fires in Burnie

Police have arrested a 14 year old and a 15 year old after an investigation into a deliberately lit property fire, and two deliberately lit vegetation fires in Burnie yesterday.

Both youths were charged with two counts of two counts of unlawfully setting fire to vegetation and one count of unlawfully setting fire to property.

They will be proceeded against under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1997.

Thankfully, due to weather conditions at the time, the fires caused minimal damage.
